Hines is a privately owned global real estate investment, development and management firm, founded in 1957, with a presence in 201 cities in 24 countries and $111 billion of assets under management. Since 2011, Chad Upham has served as Global Reporting Initiative consultant, and contributed to writing and design of the annual Hines Sustainability Report.

The Hines Sustainability Report presents policies, programs and initiatives that support the social and environmental performance of the company across its portfolio, and as industry leaders participating in the advancement of technologies and best practices. Each year, the report highlights new areas where the firm is advancing, with accompanying metrics and goals. Covive now leads the content development and design of the report, delivering what has been called the “single best marketing document that Hines produces”.

With the release of the third report in 2014, Chad Upham designed and engineered a companion website, which provides in-depth policies and references, allowing the print report to focus on topics of the day, while meeting all the content requirements of a GRI Core with full index and standard disclosures. The website is updated each year to include new feature stories and track historic metrics in interactive charts.
