Climate Solutions Poster

Project Drawdown

With a new executive director and communications team in place at Project Drawdown, leading into 2020, the organization wanted to signal a shift from a simple collection of climate solutions, to a more strategic approach to their implementation and impact. Covive was asked to design a new poster or poster series to advance this messaging and focus.

Poster Concepts and Variations

Building on the success of the “100 Solutions to Reverse Global Warming” poster designed by Covive in 2017, produced in a limited run of 5,000 prints, and circulated globally (shown here in a classroom in Cameroon), Project Drawdown wanted to create another show piece which could inspire and empower climate action.

Covive designed four preliminary concepts: a) an inflow and outflow chart of emissions sources and carbon sinks centered on a focal point of a globe; b) bold typographic “accelerators” which can facilitate implementation and scaling of solutions; c) an infographic data visualization of potential impact of climate solutions by method, sector, and cluster; d) a manifesto-style call to action. All posters are designed to be folded with an intriguing self-cover.

Based on feedback of the client communications team, and with the encouragement of Covive, the final poster would be double-sided combing both options B and C, with clean white background for both.
